Sponsor Ads in the App Menu

This guide explains how to display sponsor advertisements in the side menu of your app.

Overview

Your eventOne app can display rotating sponsor ad banners at the bottom of the side navigation menu. These ads are automatically pulled from your event's featured sponsors that have an ad image uploaded. When a user taps an ad, they are taken to the sponsor's website, and the click is tracked in analytics.

Prerequisites

Before sponsor ads will appear in the app menu, you need:

1. At least one sponsor created for your event.
2. The sponsor must be marked as Featured.
3. The sponsor must have an Ad Banner image uploaded.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Create or Edit a Sponsor

Navigate to your event in the dashboard and go to Sponsors. Click New Sponsor to create a new one, or click on an existing sponsor to edit it.

2. Fill in Sponsor Details

Provide all of the required info

3. Upload an Ad Banner

Upload an ad banner image for the sponsor. The recommended size is 870×300 pixels (the image will be scaled to fit the menu footer area). Supported formats are PNG and JPG.

4. Mark the Sponsor as Featured

Toggle the Featured checkbox on. Only featured sponsors with an uploaded ad banner will appear in the ad rotation.

5. Save the Sponsor

Click Save to apply your changes. The ad will begin appearing in the app menu automatically.

How the Ad Rotation Works

• The app fetches all featured sponsors for the event that have an ad image uploaded
• The sponsors are randomly shuffled each time the menu loads so that all sponsors get equal visibility.
• Ads rotate automatically every 10 seconds.
• If only one sponsor has an ad, that single ad is displayed without rotation.
• If no featured sponsors have ads uploaded, the ad area is hidden.

What Happens When a User Taps an Ad

1. The sponsor's website is opened.
2. An ad_click  analytics event is recorded.
