Promo Codes

Two different types of promo codes can be created. Percentage discount and fixed discount promo codes. Promo codes can be limited to specific ticket types or add-ons or it can apply to the entire order.

Promo Code Status

There are three different statuses that a promo code can be in. active, paused, and expired. Normally, a promo code will be in the active status. You can manually set the promo to paused to stop it from being used or set an expiration date after which the status will be expired. Only a promo code in the active status can be used.

Discount Calculation

If a promo code is limited to a specific ticket type or add-on, the discount is applied to the price of that ticket or add-on. If a promo code is not limited to a specific ticket type or add-on, the discount is applied to the entire order amount.

Example 1

A 10% off promo code is limited to the $40 General Admissions ticket type. The discount is $4.

Example 2

A 15% off promo code is not limited. The order total is $140. The discount is $21.

You can append ?promo=CODE to the end of your registration URL to automatically apply a promo code. For example, if the promo code is "THANKS", you can create a URL like this: https://demo.event1.io/demo-conf-2020?promo=THANKS
